Olena Ogrokhina

Olena Ogrokhina joined the Economics faculty in the fall of 2013. She teaches Intermediate Macroeconomics, Fundamentals of Econometrics, Economics of the EU, International Monetary Systems and a capstone course: Advanced Topics in Macroeconomics.

Professor Ogrokhina’s research interests are in the field of international finance. Using applied empirical tools her research focuses on answering questions such as: (1) How does monetary policy affect capital flows? (2) What monetary policy tools and frameworks can countries use to shield themselves from the booms and busts associated with volatile capital flows? 3) What policies would help developing countries improve their capability for issuing debt in domestic currency? Her work has been published in top field journals such as the Journal of International Economics and the Journal of International Money and Finance.
