Gregory A. Maniatis is Senior advisor to Peter Sutherland, the United Nations Special Representative for Migration; senior advisor at the Open Society Foundations; and a co-director of Columbia University’s Global Policy Initiative.

Over the past 15 years, Maniatis has worked closely with the European Commission, European Union member state
governments, the European Parliament, and international organizations on aspects of migration policy. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and New York Magazine. Previously, he was a foreign policy advisor to several governments, and was founder and publisher of Odyssey Magazine.
