I joined the Lafayette faculty in 1989, was tenured in 1996, and was  promoted to full professor in 2012.  By training, I am an international economist but my interests have expanded considerably since my training, and now cover areas such as environmental economics, macroeconomics, monetary policy and political economy.  My most recent research focuses largely on political economy and includes topics such as campaign finance, and congressional redistricting.

Personally, I have been married for 40 years to my high school sweetheart.  Together, we have four children and three grandchildren.  We have lived on College Hill since we arrived at Lafayette and very much enjoy the area as well as the many friendships we have established over the years.
